Cruise Line Rolls Out Free Internet for the Crew

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, operator of two cruise ships that sail to the Bahamas, has announced a roll out of free WiFi for all crew members.

This free internet roll out for the crew members comes on the heels of the cruise line offering new high speed service on their two cruise ships, Grand Celebration and Grand Classica.

The crew can now remain in contact with their friends and families back home with speeds of up to 1 GBit per second.  The new high speeds are available while the cruise ships are in port and will soon be expanded while the ships are at sea.

Richard Coombs, VP of IT services for Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, gave the following statement: “As a former shipboard IT manager, I have long understood the importance for crew members to have regular contact with loved ones while at sea. I am proud we can now offer this service to our valued crew, delivering the required bandwidth to support services and apps beyond simple e-mail and text messaging.”

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line’s two cruise ships sail out of the Port of Palm Beach and sail two day cruises to the Bahamas.  Passengers have the option of expending their trip by getting off the ship and staying in a resort for a few days on Grand Bahama Island.  They can then catch a ship back to Palm Beach after their stay.

Both of the cruise line’s cruise ships were recently refurbished during multi-million dollar dry docks.  The two ships combine to offer daily cruise service from the Port of Palm Beach.
