The ships often have crews of more than 1,000, and they often live aboard the ship. Some of them cannot go onshore much because they’re not U.S. citizens.
There are no reports of anyone with coronavirus aboard any of the ships currently anchored off the Port Canaveral coast, and the cruise lines are doing everything they can to keep the disease from ravaging the crews on board.
Some of the ships are traveling to the Bahamas to allow the crew members some occasional shore leave.
