The funds were approved by the Canaveral Port Authority commissioners as the port looks to the future and having more cruise ships sail from Port Canaveral.  The money will go to an engineering company to lead design a new berth, permit support, dredging, bidding support and construction support.

Port Canaveral CEO Captain John Murray, gave the following statement: “Port Canaveral is seeing continued growth in our cruise business. We regularly review and assess our operational capabilities and, over the last two years, we have made prudent investments in our cruise terminals.”

Port Canaveral is the third busiest cruise port in Florida with Disney Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian Cruise Line all having cruise ships that sail out of the port on a variety of 3 to 14 day cruises.
